I can save you

The Old Wolf gave me the idea, I'm sure someone else has already said this:

Instead of giving $700 billion to Wall Street, give $1 million to every American, with the stipulation that it must be used to pay off debt (mortgage, credit card, equity, etc), and if there's anything left over, you can keep it.

It's 1% of the cost of the Treasury's plan.

I dare say most people could get their butts out of the hole with a lot less than a megabuck, and the Christmas shopping this year would be FANTASTIC!

Most of it will go to the banks anyway, which is where Bernanke & co. want it to go, but this was we get to use it first to save our own arses, instead of theirs.

It's brilliant, I tell you. frickin' brilliant.

Wish it were. Maybe $1M to every household. 'Cause if you divide $700B by 350,000,000 Americans, it comes out to $2000 apiece.

In true Dogbert fashion, I dismiss your argument with a 'Bah!' and a wave of the hand. They've been making up the numbers all along, why can't I?

Fair's fair... but remember, they can tax 350M Americans $2000 to bail out the corporations. But where will $350T come from?

I dub thee "Fuzzy Squisher Of Brilliant Ideas".

Oh, you know it wouldn't work, and I know it wouldn't work, but you know someone's going to propose it in Congrs sooner or later.

If I had a million dollars,
If I had a million dollars,
I would buy you a green dress
but not a real green dress--that's cruel!
