H-R

OK, the Hertzsprung-Russel diagram.  Science geeks know it: it describes the Main Sequence of stellar evolution, from protoclouds to yellow dwarfs (Sol) to supergiants to black holes.

Behold the H-R diagram of Astronomers!

We loves it. Thank you, Bad Astronomer!

Re: (side note)
Here's the cop out:
It's been at least a couple months since I've seen him appear on a program, so I really can't remember details.

But, it did seem to me that he had a number of ideas that I rejected based on the thought that either people wouldn't want to do what he was suggesting, or there were more practical ways of doing what he wanted done.

Also, his definition of "practical", and "usable" seem out of place, when he's talking about using a time machine that would require more power than exists en the entire universe.

On a more positive note, I think the bad astronomy cartoon is hilarious. I haven't had a chance to indulge the Astronomy-Cosmology side of my personality, which I can really only let loose when Barb appears in the comic.
