It is interesting to note that Brent Spiner, Gates McFadden, and Marina Sirtis are not even listed.

The ones I'm kinda intrigued by are Rosalind Chao (Soon-Lee in MASH, Keiko in TNG) as Tasha Yar (and the favorite, even) and Ben Murphy (!!; Gemini Man) as Ryker. Weird that J.D. Roth (now most known for The Biggest Loser) was the "only possibility" for Wesley at this point.

BTW, Gates McFadden's full name is Cheryl Gates McFadden, so she was favorite as Beverly Crusher from early on (it looks like the play in San Diego worked out).

I find it interesting that only one of the actors considered for Picard would have been a native french speaker.

You may want to have another look at Jacques Cousteau's programs. I'm becoming more and more convinced that he was the model for Picard.

(Not only that, I'm pretty sure he was the model for Captain Majors of the Calico in the old 1970's Godzilla cartoon.)
