And I hope they choke.

A week ago, I installed the GCC 4.2.1 compiler I'd been working on for six weeks, and proudly told the developers to go to town.

Not a sound.

I will assume that since I have heard nothing from them, that they are using it and it works, but after that much work, I would have liked for someone to at least say, Yes, we logged in and it's OK.

Blessed is he who expects no gratitude, for he shall not be disappointed.

In other news, The Wife has headed for Texas to care for her mom after the hip replacement replacement (yes, that;s the second replacement on this hip).  That leaves Bogar and me to run the house.  To be candid, I could run it better without Bogar, because *I* don't chew up acorns and leave them on the bed, but such is life.  My Wife spent all yesterday cooking and ziploc'ing food so I won't starve for at least a few days, which is only one of the reasons I love her.

So now I will go warm up some stew (she makes stew that would make lumberjacks dance for joy). Keep the faith.

Mom stew. Musta done good. (bastardization of Firefly quote, but oh well.)
Poor daddy, stuck with Bogey. And no tranq darts.
Well, except for tomorrow, I'll be online pretty mcuh every evening and most of the weekend as well if you get bored. You know, between crocodile wrestling and translating the Swedish constitution into l33t-speak.

I think I've heard good things about that series of GCC, I think it has something to do with its capacity for code optimization.
Still, I suppose no news is good news, but if they haven't told you anything about it after two, I suggest you check on them, who knows what they might get into...

I'm sure you'll survive your wive's absence, though how well you can cook isn't always the important part.

The nature of the job is that you never hear from people when things go right, only when they break. The thing that narks me is that, after the pressure to make it happen, they don't have the grace to even acknowledge that the work is done. Feh.
