lost in the fog

For the past hour, I've been watching the Bay Bridge disappear in and out of the fog.  The very top of the tower and the Oakland hills are visible, but the whole Bay is wrapped up.  Right now, there are waves of fog coming in, moving up Fremont between me and the next building over.  And I'm 19 floors up.  Sometimes working here has its perks.  I used to get panoramic sunrises, too, but they built the Latest Huge Apartment Building due east.

In fact St John's Newfoundland knows more about fog (and wind) than any place on earth - well at least the fog.

The best one I ever saw was when it was clear blue skies outside, and fog 4 feet thick in the hangar...

I'm just worn out with sitting in the coldest part of the building (any building), waiting for people to come in for their picture, and finding out they came by two hours after the posted close.

You would have a glorious time. Lord Verisopht scandalizing Emily Fezziwig in the parlour of Tavistock House, with Mr. Dickens' butler looking on with vast disapproval.…
