talking to dead people

Who do you talk to who's dead?  I'm not talking about spirits or seances, just saying something to someone who's gone, and wishing you could get an answer.

I realized that I occasionally talk to my father, generally when I finish a project and ask what he would have thought of it, or when the Giants are playing a football game (Dad raised me to cheer for the Giants and loathe the Raiders, so this has been mostly a happy season).  Mom I talk to on her birthday or on April 15th (the day she died, and I'm sure she did it  as a gesture to the IRS).   Most of my other dead, I really can't think of anything to say to them.

Often chat with my greats and great-greats when I visit their graves, and we talk about what their lives must have been like, and I tell them what I'm doing, and ask for help in finding other relatives... it's a peaceful thing to sit in a graveyard and talk to folks long-gone, and tell them that they are not forgotten, and that their lives counted for something.

And I usually tell them "thanks," for my own life.

Nobody. I prefer to think of them at rest, not to be disturbed.
