Married

This is what it's like to be married to the same (wonderful) person for a good long time:

In the hotel room, me working on my laptop, My Wife watching TV, both of us snacking.

My Wife:  If you're thinking about going to the vending machine and getting a soda...

Me: you would like to share some of it, if I was thinking about getting a soda?

My Wife: Yeah!

Normal people could not handle this, but it works well for us.

One of the world's shortest science fiction stories, entitled Telepathy:

"Aw, you know what I mean..."

I saw something the other day about Ernest Hemingway betting some other writers that he could write a novel in six words. He gave them:

For Sale: Baby Shoes. Never worn.

He said later it was one of his best.

But isn't that what a normal marriage should be?

I know a lot of married people who don't know each other, or play with each other, nearly as well. Sad,really.

sounds about right to me :)

A lot of our conversations tend to be actually quite brief..

me: "Ya know...?"

him: "Ya, I know."

When you have been driving along in silence for a half-hour, and one of you voices a thought that the other one was just about to say - you're married. Fo Evah.

In one "Pickles" strip, Earl starts a number of vague sentences that Opal responds to immediately. He then says a vague incomplete sentence to their daughter, who replies, "Sorry, Dad, I haven't been married to you for 50 years."

Nice that you could reach that stage in less time. Er, right?
