I'm just saying...

Devil's Tower.
Devil's Slide.
Devil's Island.
Devil's Bowl
Devil's Lake
Devil's Den

If God created the world, how come all the interesting bits got named for the other guy?

(not expecting serious replies, thankyouverymuch)

The names were all established by attorneys.

SATAN, n.
One of the Creator's lamentable mistakes, repented in sashcloth and axes. Being instated as an archangel, Satan made himself multifariously objectionable and was finally expelled from Heaven. Halfway in his descent he paused, bent his head in thought a moment and at last went back. "There is one favor that I should like to ask," said he.

"Name it."

"Man, I understand, is about to be created. He will need laws."

"What, wretch! you his appointed adversary, charged from the dawn of eternity with hatred of his soul -- you ask for the right to make his laws?"

"Pardon; what I have to ask is that he be permitted to make them himself."

It was so ordered.

Maybe they weren't named for the devil, just a bunch of his minions. If I find a place with "Legion" in the name, I'm walking away.

Don't forget Devil's Thumb, which overlooks Boulder.

A picture of Green Mountain, including Devil's Thumb.

His other thumb is up near Ben Delatour Scout Ranch, Red Feather Lakes, CO.

It may be that Satan is jealous of such a beautiful state, and tried to ruin it?

For the other perspective, look for the song "The Devil Made Texas".

I quite agree with that song. *Grins*
